Attorney Jean M. Brandt established her law practice in Cleveland, Ohio in 1989. Her office is located in downtown Cleveland. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Cleveland State University.

As a litigator Attorney Brandt handles both civil matters and criminal defense. Her broad experience qualifies her to skillfully deal with diverse legal fields ranging from family law, housing, small business consultation, estate planning, personal bankruptcies, criminal defense work, personal injury and more.

She has worked as a court appointed Guardian Ad Litem at the Juvenile Division of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas since 1990, conducting investigations on behalf of the court regarding matters involving abused and neglected children.

Throughout her career, Attorney Brandt has been an active community supporter of her hometown Cleveland, Ohio. Brandt has served on the boards of Tremont West Development Corporation (local non-profit development corporation), the Cleveland Housing Network and served as treasurer as well as president to the Plain Press, a community based newspaper serving the west side of Cleveland, most recently she served two three year terms on the Board of Merrick House.

Well known as a dedicated supporter of regional arts, being a singer-songwriter herself, she operated Brandt Gallery from 1990 through 2015 in storefront law office in the Tremont neighborhood.  During those years her law office featured work by artists working and living in Northeast Ohio.  In 1993, with the assistance of Sandra Rotkowski and Mikel Mahoney, Attorney Brandt founded the monthly Tremont ArtWalks, a DIY community based arts event which occurred in Tremont from 1993 – 2015
